Star Sosa
Gallery Owner/Designer

"I got involved with the craft show circuit as a jewelry designer starting back in the late 80’s and loved it from the very beginning. I started out as an exhibitor and in 1997 made the switch to attending as a buyer and gallery owner which has shown me all sides of the art, craft and jewelry business. In my years as a wholesale jewelry designer I did trunk shows in galleries all over the country in such wonderful places as Carmel, Vail, Aspen, Santa Fe and more. It showed me how many other people approach the business of art and jewelry. I have taken this knowledge and distilled it into Spectrum Gallery. I’d like to think that Spectrum represents the best of my experiences as an artist, a collector, and a business owner. I have always strived to create a place where I would like to go and spend time. I think it shows.

My staff, my artists, and the artworks have all been carefully selected to come together in a unique dynamic of beauty, craftsmanship and service. Recently a customer told me that Spectrum was her “favorite place to be” and then she hugged me. What better testimonial can anyone receive?"

Nancy Noel May
Store Manager/Artist

"My degree is in Art Education from Towson State University and I have always  worked in some capacity in the field of art.  I've painted all my life, but in the past eight years I decided to get serious about it and my work has grown as I have put in much more time and effort.  I've been with Star and Spectrum Gallery since 2000 as gallery manager.  It has been a joy to work with Star and we have a great relationship.  Recognizing the strengths we each possess makes us a great team.  With Star to lead us, we have developed a fabulous line of jewelry that we make here in house.  Learning a new craft is always exciting and for the past six years I've done all of the hand-knotting of our beads and pearls.  We all design and assemble wonderful necklaces, earrings, and bracelets."

Jane Faudree
Gallery Associate/Artist

A native of Greenville, North Carolina, Jane Faudree was born into a small college town, rich with love for academics and the arts.  Her mother, an educator, constantly inspired her to question and observe.   Her father was extremely influential in her development musically, and encouraged her to study music in college.  Although she did just that, her love for the visual arts eventually led her to study with master painter, Luana Luconi Winner, who was trained in the classical vein.  An accomplished painter who is infatuated with the American and French impressionist style of painting, Spectrum Gallery was pleased to add Jane to the staff in 2006.  With her painter's eye, Jane offers fresh insight into the work on display at Spectrum Gallery.

W. Michael Chapman
Master Goldsmith

W. Michael Chapman is a third-generation jeweler, growing up sitting next to his father at his jewelry bench and learning the art of fine goldsmithing and platinumsmithing first hand from classically European trained jewelers.  Michael has been designing and manufacturing fine jewelry for over 40 years.  He was trained in the philosophy that jewelry should be designed to be functional, wearable, as well as beautiful.  He strives to make classic heirloom pieces that will be treasured for generations to come.
